The Object inside Me
The project started by analysing different kinds of pills and especially their mechanisms of action and the selling strategies of dealers and pharma firms. This analysis lead to the impression of a whole lot of trojan horses.
Deconstructing the pill lead to a reconstruction out of its fragments that showed a shift away from the original objects appearance.
Me inside the Object
That impression caused the wish for an object, that is capable of deceiving the viewer in a similar way.The parts are shaped in such way that they fit together, match each other geometrically. At the same time the geometry avoids the objects from beeing put together, like two puzzle parts beeing moved on a surface. Despite the nearly same surface design the objects ar e made of different materials, one of styrofoam, the other of plaster. This results in a massive weight difference.
The gap between appearance and real being, the clipping of anticipation by experience, leads to a strangely contradictory experience in interaction.
The project is the result of a cooperation with Ursula Ender and Verena Rauch.
